Truth and Reconciliation Day: Moscrop Secondary

Working Together to Move Forward – January 18, 2018

On January 18, 2018 grade 10 students at Moscrop Secondary, Elders, Aboriginal students, Aboriginal leaders from several nations, community members and staff will be engaging in the formal Truth and Reconciliation Day. The purpose of this day is to acknowledge that we are living, learning and teaching at Moscrop Secondary on the traditional ancestral and unceded territories of the Coast-Salish Nations of Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish nations.  We acknowledge the TRC Calls to Action that reconciliation is needed within education, and we celebrate the resiliency, strength and gifts that indigenous communities bring to our community and this event will encourage cultural exchange. The Truth and Reconciliation Day will include interactive workshops focussing on the theme of working together to move forward.
